Les Trois Petits Cochons
Our History
Once upon a time, three little pigs left their home to see the world.
All summer long, they roamed through the woods, over the plains and across the oceans having fun cooking for their friends.
As the winter of 1975 approached, they arrived in New York City where they decided to stay. It was time to prepare for winter. So our little pigs opened a charcuterie in Greenwich Village, and named it Les Trois Petits Cochons, after themselves as our pigs were French.
They started to cook for all their friends. No one was happier than our piggies and they made many friends. Among them were Mimi Sheraton and James Beard who enjoyed stopping by the store and leaving with some great treats. Even the big bad wolf came to the store and found all the delicious pate he wanted without all that “huffing and puffing”. Our little pigs worked harder and harder to try to satisfy the demand, but it became difficult.
As they could make more pates, mousses, terrines and other charcuterie, they started to sell to other vendors and to restaurants. Again, the demand grew and it started to be difficult to satisfy everyone.
Two of our little pigs, Alain and Jean Pierre, decided to look for a bigger house. In the big city they could not find the space they needed, so they left the town to see the country. Through the woods of Pennsylvania they went walking and walking until they reached Wilkes Barre.
There it was! That big house must have been built for them! It was just perfect. A little brick here and there, a little paint here and there and a much bigger pot here and there and the kitchen was ready. They decided to call it House Of Bricks. It was solid and built to satisfy all the hungry wolves on earth…
Now the pates, that were once enjoyed only by our New York extended family are available nationwide. Through the years, some of our little piggies have come and gone, but Alain Sinturel still owns the company.
By using all-natural, high quality ingredients and by crafting small, handmade batches, our little pigs continue to attract the crowd. When it comes to taste, you can trust the Big Bad Wolf. We hope that like him, you will choose the Three Little Pigs!
